With workforce gaps continuing to challenge the building industry, it has never been more important to connect students to career opportunities early. That’s exactly why Frame the Future matters and why this event is something we’re truly proud of.
Taking place on March 27 at Southeast Technical College, Frame the Future is an impactful one-day program designed to introduce area high school students to the many career opportunities within the building industry through hands-on learning and real-world experience. The event brings together students from surrounding high schools who are curious about skilled trades, construction, design, engineering, and related professions, giving them the chance to explore potential career paths in an engaging and interactive environment.
Throughout the day, students will rotate through a series of interactive stations led by local industry professionals who generously share their knowledge, skills, and personal career experiences. These stations are expected to include areas such as trusses, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, drafting, and engineering, offering students a broad look at the many career pathways available within the industry. From hands-on trade demonstrations to design, planning, and project management concepts, Frame the Future highlights the wide range of opportunities the building industry has to offer.
This isn’t a traditional career fair; it’s hands-on, engaging, and designed to keep students interested and involved. Programs like Frame the Future are critical to workforce development because they help bridge the gap between education and industry needs while inspiring students to envision a future for themselves in the building industry.
Events like Frame the Future would not be possible without the strong support of our sponsors, and we are currently seeking additional sponsors to help make this program a success. Sponsorship support plays a vital role in workforce development by helping inspire the next generation of builders, tradespeople, and industry leaders.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with the event. Volunteers will help lead student groups between stations and engage with students throughout the day. It’s a rewarding experience and a great opportunity to connect with the next generation while supporting meaningful workforce development efforts.

Frame the Future isn’t just about filling workforce gaps, it’s about building excitement, opportunity, and long-term success for students and our community.
