One of the things I love most about being part of the Care Foundation is the opportunity to work alongside and invest in the next generation. I’ve always believed that when we support young people early, we don’t just help individuals succeed; we strengthen our entire community. That belief is what makes our newest fundraiser, the Care Foundation Duck Raffle, especially meaningful to me.
This year, we’re putting a fun twist on giving back. The Duck Raffle is officially underway and runs through the final day of the Sioux Empire Home Show on March 1. It’s lighthearted, easy to participate in, and packed with purpose. You purchase a duck, cheer it on, and have a chance to win prizes, all while supporting a program that truly matters.
The primary beneficiary of the Duck Raffle is our High School Scholarship program, which is especially close to my heart. These scholarships help students take the next step after graduation, whether that path leads to college or technical school. As someone who is passionate about working alongside young people entering our industry, I know firsthand how life-changing that support can be.
I want to remind you that the Care Foundation Scholarship application process is now open. Each scholarship is $2,000, and applications are due April 1. If you know a high school senior who is graduating this spring and planning their next step, I encourage you to tell them about this opportunity. Sometimes, all it takes is someone saying, “You should apply.”
The final Duck Raffle drawing will take place March 1 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, and you do not need to be present to win. Whether you’re attending the Home Show or supporting afar, your participation helps create real opportunities for students in our community.
