Originally from Madison, SD, with a few early years spent in Wisconsin, Michele has proudly called Sioux Falls home for more than 30 years. Her roots in the region run deep, and so does her commitment to the industries and communities she passionately serves.
With over three decades of mortgage experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer, Michele has built a reputation grounded in expertise, integrity, and genuine care for the people she works with. Her professional life has long intertwined with her passion for supporting the home building industry and strengthening the network of professionals who shaped the Sioux Empire. Michele served on the HBASE Board of Directors from 2011–2020, including time as the Association’s Treasurer. Throughout her tenure, she played an instrumental role across multiple committees, chairing Associates, Membership, Events, and the Home Show, always bringing creativity, collaboration, and energy to each initiative.
Her leadership and dedication did not go unnoticed. Michele was honored as the Associate of the Year in 2011, followed by the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2013, recognizing her tremendous contributions to the Association. Her involvement, however, began long before these awards. Michele recalls one of her earliest memories from 1996, when she served on the Associates Committee and helped organize a builder showcase event at the Ramkota, an experience that cemented her love for the industry and the people in it.
Her dedication to service extends beyond HBASE. Michele is also an active member of the Realtors Association of the Sioux Empire and currently serves as the secretary/treasurer of the Sioux Empire Housing Partnership, contributing her knowledge and passion to broader housing-related efforts across the region.
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Michele has always been deeply engaged in her community. She spent 10 years coaching slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball and has been involved in the Professional Women’s Golf Outing (PWGO) for the past 15 years, helping the event grow from 64 golfers to an impressive 208 this past year.
In her free time, Michele enjoys cheering on the Green Bay Packers, spending quality time with family and friends, and relaxing with her beloved Berne doodle, Jordy.
From the mortgage desk to the softball field, from board meetings to community events, Michele has left a lasting mark wherever she’s served. Her blend of professionalism, passion, and people-centered leadership continues to inspire everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. Congratulations on being inducted into the HBASE Hall of Fame, Michele, an honor truly worthy of your remarkable legacy.
