A Message from the City of Sioux Falls,

With the rising cost of building material we are being asked about some alternative wall sheathing options. There are other structural sheathing products available on the market . If you choose to use one of these alternatives instead of the  standard wood structural panels (OSB and Plywood) and additional sheathing inspection will have to be scheduled to inspect the attachment of the panels since these products usually have specific nailing/stapling requirements.

We ask that this inspection gets schedule with our office as soon as the walls are sheathed and standing ( the inspection can take place while framing of the roof and other misc. framing is still being done) That way it won’t have an effect in the progression of the job and also the building inspectors can fit it in their schedule accordingly.
