National Awards Given to President of the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire
SIOUX FALLS, SD, January 11, 2018 --- Kim Hefner-Hines, 2018 President of the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE), recently received two national honors through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) during the annual NAHB International Builders’ Show® in Orlando, FL. Hefner-Hines received the NAHB Bill Polley Advocate of BUILD-PAC Award and the NAHB Associate of the Year Award.
The Bill Polley BUILD-PAC Award was established in 2000 by NAHB's BUILD-PAC to recognize the most outstanding associate member advocate on the local, state and national levels. Named in honor of the late Bill Polley, a past NAHB Associate, BUILD-PAC subcommittee chair and Associate Members Committee member, the award acknowledges the associate member who epitomizes Mr. Polley’s ardent loyalty and diligent fundraising efforts for BUILD-PAC. Award recipients are selected based on their demonstrated BUILD-PAC advocacy including leadership roles in BUILD-PAC fundraising at the local, state and national level; efforts to increase associate members’ understanding of the important of BUILD-PAC and to encourage grassroots participation and growth; and overall enthusiasm and service.
The NAHB Associate of the Year Award recognizes Associate members who have distinguished themselves by their outstanding contributions to the home building industry on the local, state and national levels. Nominees are judged in the following categories: Association and Membership Activities, Local Association Activity, State Association Activity, National Association Activity, Industry Accomplishments and Civic Responsibility. The most outstanding associate is named Associate of the Year.
Kim is the general manager at Allen Homes, Inc. Locally, she has served on the HBASE Board of Directors since 1999 and was the treasurer from 2001-2004 and 2006-2011. She was inducted into the HBASE’s Housing Hall of Fame in 2013, named the HBASE Associate of the Year in 2001 and received the Presidential Award in 2002, 2009 and 2010. She also currently ranks as the association’s top membership recruiter. Kim has also been involved with the South Dakota Home Builders Association, having chaired multiple committees and was named their Associate of the Year in 2004.
