SIOUX FALLS, SD (June 14, 2018) - - - Over fifty members of the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE) donated their time and expertise to the Home Builders Care Foundation’s Annual Repair Affair Day on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

During the event, the group made repairs on fourteen different homes (thirteen in Sioux Falls and one in Dell Rapids). The volunteers did repairs for homeowners in need of accessibility issues, such as building wheelchair ramps, installing grab bars or handrails and replacing doorknobs with levers.

Of the fifty volunteers, nineteen volunteers were employees of Great Western Bank in Sioux Falls. As a way to give back to the community, when Great Western Bank’s employees’ volunteer in the community, their number of volunteer hours donated are converted into a monetary amount that the bank donates to the cause as a part of their Employee Giving Program.

On June 13, Great Western Bank presented a check for $1,245 to the Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation Board as a direct result of the Great Western Bank employees’ eighty-three donated volunteer hours during the Repair Affair event.

Great Western Bank was also the main sponsor for the event for the third year in a row.
