Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Showcase home?
A home on the Showcase of Remodeled Homes is a residential home that has recently undergone remodeling. The purpose of the event is for Remodelers to show off their work, allow the public to meet them face-to-face and to allow the public to get ideas for their next home-related project.
What are the event hours?
The event runs from 12:00PM - 5:00PM (Saturday and Sunday) on October 7 & 8.
What does it cost to tour homes?
Tickets are only $5 (cash or checks accepted). Kids two and under are free.
This ticket gets you into all participating projects on both the Showcase of Remodeled Homes and Outdoor Living Showcase events.
Where do I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased at the entrance of any home on the Showcase of Remodeled Homes or the Outdoor Living Showcase during event hours only.
How do I plan which homes I want to visit?
Pick up a FREE copy of Home Ideas magazine at all Hy-Vee locations in Sioux Falls which lists information, maps and images of each participating home....or download the list of homes and maps by clicking here.
You are welcome to begin at any home on the event and you do not need to visit the homes in numerical order. Homes are simply numbered in order of location but don't indicate a required order to follow.
Are all homes open during the event?
All homes are open during the event unless they are noted as 'CLOSED' or 'NOT AVAILABLE TO TOUR' on our website. The event website hosts the most up-to-date list of homes to tour.
Is this a kid-friendly event?
Children are allowed in the homes, however please be considerate and keep children near you at all times. Remember that this is someone’s personal home and you are a guest in their home. The bathrooms are for display only and should not be used for personal use.
Is photography allowed in the homes?
When entering a home, please ask the Remodeler or representative in the home for permission before taking photos. This event is a great place to gather ideas for your own home but remember that these professionals put in many hours of work into creating these homes and if they ask that no photographs be taken, please be considerate of their request.
Are shoes allowed in the homes?
In most homes it is requested that attendees remove their shoes and cover their feet. Due to this, consider wearing shoes that are easy to slip on and off and bring socks with you.
