Community Service Projects


Repair Affair Day

2013 will mark the 20th anniversary of this community service project that is a one day event in June that allows HBASE members to volunteer their time and expertise to someone in need. Since 1993, more than 120 repair projects have been completed with a total of more than 3,500 man hours from more than 800 HBASE member volunteers. The focus of Repair Affair is on adapting the home for the elderly and/or disabled. More details

 

Make-A-Wish

Members of the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE) teamed up with Make-A-Wish South Dakota to help grant the wish of  a new playhouse for 3-year-old Olivia, a cancer patient from Sioux Falls. HBASE volunteers donated their time and talent to fulfill her wish request of a new playhouse. More details

 

Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of South Dakota (RMHC-SD) provides a home away from home for families as their seriously ill children receive medical treatment at facilities such as Sanford Children’s Hospital. When the doors open this fall, the charity will have two homes in Sioux Falls (a 9-bedroom home near Avera McKennan and the new 18-bedroom home near Sanford Children’s Hospital). Over 6,000 families have utilized the charity’s housing services in South Dakota since 1983. More details
