Committees & Councils
Joining a committee is a great way to get involved, meet new people and contribute your skills to the association. Meetings typically last about 1 hour. Most are held at the HBASE office but may occassionally meet off-site. Meeting notices are emailed to committee members the month before and then a reminder email is sent the week before the meeting.
BUILDING & GROUNDS COMMITTEE
Oversee repairs and updates to the HBASE office building.
Organize all general membership events such as membership meetings and socials, Member Appreciation Night and more.
GOLF CLASSIC COMMITTEE
Plan and promote the annual Golf Classic tournament including selling various sponsorships.
HOME SHOW COMMITTEE
Plan, organize, produce and promote the annual Sioux Empire Home Show.
LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE (State / National)
Review proposed state legislative bills and national legislation; develop and maintain relationships with state and national officials.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Works on local issues of importance to land developers and builders; represented on the City’s Infrastructure Review Advisory Board (IRAB).
MEMBER EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Coordinate educational programs specifically to benefit the members.
MEMBER SERVICES COMMITTEE
Develop tangible member benefits and services; promote to membership.
Plan and conduct programs for membership retention and recruitment; organize the annual membership drive contest.
PARADE OF HOMES COMMITTEE
Plan, organize, produce and promote annual Spring and Fall Parade of Homes.
PAST BOARD COMMITTEE
Identifies future leaders of the association through nominations to the Board.
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE
Review the Association’s publications and website; promote the Association and the housing industry as a whole; plan and conduct various community service projects.
OUTDOOR LIVING SHOWCASE COMMITTEE
Plan, organize, produce and promote annual Outdoor Living Showcase event.
The Remodeling Council of the Sioux Empire identifies its members as a professional, improves their business know-how, promotes their service and builds their consumer confidence. Each monthly meeting is held the first Wednesday over the lunch hour and has a guest speaker.
REPAIR AFFAIR COMMITTEE
Review low-income homeowner applications; view accessibility related projects prior to approval; recruit volunteers for Repair Affair Day; work with sponsors.
SHOWCASE OF REMODELED HOMES COMMITTEE
Plan, organize, produce and promote annual Showcase of Remodeled Homes.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Address labor issues in the building industry; Promote industry-related programs to schools; Manages the HBASE's Carpentry Apprenticeship Program.
